The guest house is clean with exceptional views and a convenient location close to the city centre. the staff are fantastically friendly throughout. - There is a huge variety of food at breakfast, including cereal, bakery items, and eggs.

The family queen room didn't seem appealing on photos but it was well-equipped with a shared bathroom. The location was favourable and excellent for Edinburgh, so close to good restaurants and markets in 15 minutes and the rear garden of the house. Went to The Golf Tavern for drink or two, set not very far from the hotel.

I would recommend the place. The hotel was nice little, I loved its pleasant staff. The room was cool enough and big and what's more - included a shower and hair dryers...

We were treated like family! Everyone was very cordial and accommodating. Our auto was looked after and our needs were met. When we informed our host that we were leaving early the next morning before breakfast he accommodated us with food that we would ahve in the morning before we left. We ran into a problem after we left and he and his wife immediately went to take care of our needs...would gladly return.

We stayed in the apartment belonging to Menzies Guest House in Gilmour Place which was comfortable, pleasant and well situated. It was clean, spacious and modern with good facilities, and very convenient for the Kings Theatre, the Cameo Cinema, good restaurants in Bruntsfield and on an excellent bus route.
The apartment could be slightly improved by being better equipped with a few every day items such as tea towels, an iron, coat hooks etc. Due to its situation on a main road, it can be quite noisy at night.

Rm was elegant, tall ceiling, nice decoration, tasteful breakfast but not enough refill, if you were late, no cold cut. Good internet service, but no BBC channels
Out of 7 rooms, only our bathroom was outside??? Breakfast time was too short, from 8:30-9:30, forced to get up & then sleep again. Abt 20 mins walk to city centre, but good to health for a long walk after taking heavy meal.

The bed was very clean. the room was airy and neat. the staff provided good service and helped us with luggage. the hotel was in a perfect location, very close to the back garden, the castle, and bus connections. It was also just 2 km from Royal Mile.

The location in a really quiet area was good and there were a market and shops nearby. I found The Golf Tavern offering shots and different drinks 1 km of the venue. The family king room with a shared bathroom had all necessary amenities.
